Apple Holds Off…For Now in VR
Most of the big tech players are getting into virtual reality. At the Game Developers Conference recently, there was one company missing to discuss new virtual reality opportunities.
That company is Apple.
Currently, Apple is planning a product event for March 21 where they’re going to be launching different versions of current products.
Gene Munster, Piper Jaffray analyst, said, “Apple needs to do something (in VR) at some point, because if they don’t…it would be as significant as them missing the iPhone, as hard as it is to believe. But that’s how big of a deal VR is going to be.”
In regards to entering new markets, Apple usually goes slow as they prefer to learn and improve on what existing companies are doing. Time will tell if Apple is right or wrong for waiting.
