Company Creates Affordable VR Headset
Dodocase is a company that has been known for years as a tech manufacturer or high quality leather iPhone and iPad cases.
Now Dodocase is looking to jump into the virtual reality world.
The company recently began an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for the SmartVR, it’s new virtual reality headset. The headset is made of synthetic polymers and nylon and will work with about 95 percent of smartphones that are on the market. The best part, it’s priced at only $28 as they accept preorders.
The CEO of Dodocase, Craig Dalton, said, “We thought 2016 would be the year people would start wanting to own a VR for themselves.”
Dalton notes that the money made from the crowdfunding campaign will be put towards the materials needed to build the SmartVR headset.
Whether or not Dodocase hits their goal of $100,000 raised, the price after preorder is just going to be $40 total, which is much more affordable than other options on the market.
It is important to note though, that the SmartVR is a bit amateur compared to the more high end Oculus Rift for example.
