Dale Earnhardt Jr. Introduces New VR Video Game
Dale Earnhardt Jr. enjoys racing cars—may it be through real terrains or through the screen.
Earnhardt has been a video game lover and a fan of computer gaming for as long as he can remember, and even in online racing, he never backs out.
To him and other video games enthusiasts, the next big thing in the world of “artificial” racing might involve virtual reality competition, with more flexible equipment that puts the participant deeper into the action in an immersive experience.
New VR Racing Game to Be Launched with the Help of Dale Earnhardt Jr.
In preparation for the new world, Mountain Dew, one of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s sponsors, is going to be participating in the release of a new Oculus VR racing game. The launch is set to be held at Earnhardt Jr.’s NASCAR shop in Mooresville, North Carolina. The anticipated release is going to be part of JR Motorsports’ Fan Days at the shop.

Earnhardt Jr. says, “I think VR is the future of video games. For years and years, we were playing on 19-inch monitors. Now everybody has 24- and 30-inch monitors and multiple screens.
“But I think the VR setup is definitely the future. It puts the fans in a VR environment. We’re right in there with them. They’ll be able to be on the race track with us. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
“It’s a different experience that places you in a virtual reality world. They’ll be riding in the race cars with the drivers, being a part of that world for a little while.”
With the immersive experience brought by virtual reality, fans of the JRM stock car racing team can choose to ride in virtual reality mode with any of their favorite car racer. Kasey Kahne, Chase Elliott, or Dale Earnhardt Jr. himself will join them in the race.
Clearly with the potential of virtual reality, it is definitely a setup for the future. Virtual reality creates an immersive experience for the fans, placing them right on the race track with the racers they look up to. It is going to be a lot of fun for all the participants and a good business opportunity for stakeholders alike.
It is definitely going to be a different experience from previous years where the game is played on 19-inch monitors; now there’s a considerable number of people who have 24-inch and 30-inch monitors and multiple screens to play on.
Virtual reality continues to prove how great of an innovation it is. It takes people to the world they’ve long wanted to be in even for just a short period.
