Discovery Will Sell Ads In Virtual Reality
Discovery Communication has become the latest media outlet to say that it will offer to sell advertising in virtual reality. It said that it was ready to put the client in the center of action by creating a fully involved virtual reality experience. In its effort to interest advertisers in the budding medium, the media company is willing to work with top production and distribution companies.
As most U.S broadcast ad cable outlets are selling their advertising inventory bulk, Discovery is making its pitch. The company said that it’s willing to sell ads across TV programs and digital properties in a continuous fashion because viewers are tapping new methods like video streaming to access their favorite series.
Discovery is going to enable advertisers to buy digital-media properties relating to technology, history, world events, science and also inventory across TV and video on demand.
For an advertiser to reach a larger audience, according to age and gender, the company has introduced an initiative that will give advertisers access to new kinds of data that they will use to place commercials alongside content. The initiative is called ‘Discovery Engage’.
Discovery emphasized more on the in-house production team so that they are able to develop and produce content on behalf of advertisers for TV shows and digital content.
