Experience Coachella with Virtual Reality
There were some big names at Coachella this past weekend. Some of the names included Guns N’ Roses, Calvin Harris and LCD Soundsystem among many others.
If you weren’t able to go, you’re probably wishing you did. But the good news, is that you can still experience Coachella. Kind of.
It’s Coachella’s 17th year in existence. This year Coachella organizers are offering music fans that can’t make it to Coachella in Indio, California, to experience the festival in virtual reality.
Utilizing the Coachella app, if you have a VR headset, you’re able to tour Coachella’s location thanks to the people at Vantage.tv.
There are exclusive interviews as well of some of the performers including Ellie Goulding, The Last Shadow Puppets and The Kills.
People that actually did go to Coachella were able to go through the virtual reality experience as well. In fact, attendees could obtain a VR cardboard headset for free. Although, no offense to virtual reality, but at Coachella, it would probably be much cooler to be AT Coachella rather than experiencing parts of it through VR.
That actually isn’t the first time that a music festival has utilized virtual reality. In 2015, Lollapalooza Berlin partnered with Wowza and Sony to create a 360 degree virtual reality live stream of the festival.
