Lowe’s is Planning on Testing VR
You can add Lowe’s to the list of major companies throwing their hats in the VR ring. Lowe’s along with the help of Microsoft are starting a pilot program that will utilize HoloLens headsets inside a Lowe’s store in Seattle.
The customers are going to be able to view a kitchen remodeling demo that will enable them to view design options. They will be able to adjust countertop sizes among many other options. Once they like the design, they will be able to send it to their friends for them to view.
HoloLens is set to begin shipping to software developers towards the end of March 2016.
Microsoft is looking to partner with a lot of companies, so company representatives have been demonstrating potential VR uses to lots of major companies including Volvo and NASA.
