New VR Headset on KickStarter – Cool Features
If you are wanting something stronger than Google Cardboard to utilize with VR apps, you might want to check out Opto. It’s a new smartphone VR headset that is plastic.
It was designed to enable a one-stop solution with audio that’s built in to help people immerse in VR content – i.e. experiences, films 360-degree photos and games.
Opto allows you to experience VR content no matter where you are. And the company claims that the Opto VR produces high quality experiences.
Virtual reality content is continuing to grow. As it does, it’s going way past games as VR will be with movies, music videos, documentary films and much more. Most VR headsets are fairly big and heavy with all sorts of wires that need to be plugged in. You also typically need your own headphones.
The main reason Opto is different than most VR headsets, is that it is light in weight and has everything in one, no wires needed and the audio is connected. This allows users to move around easily and explore VR anywhere. Another cool feature is that you’re able to use any smartphone with Opto as long as the screen size is between 4 to 5.5 inches.
To release the Opto VR headset, the company needs to raise about $57,000. That will enable them to manufacture the headsets. So far, they’ve raised over $23,000.
