Platform Allows Ordinary People to Build VR Games
Voxelus is a platform that allows people to build, share and play their own virtual reality games.
The company launched in 2015 at the Oculus Connect 2 conference. Their goal is to allow anybody, no matter what their age, to create VR games without knowing how to write code.
At the Game Developer’s Conference this year (2016), Voxelus said they’re now offering a marketplace. Currently, their software is free and available for Mac and PC. The software is compatible with Oculus Rift and Gear VR.
It allows you to keep editing your games once you’ve created them. Voxelus CEO, Martin Repetto, said that his company’s goals are to “have a sandbox with a meaning”. That’s in reference to Microsoft’s Minecraft. Repetto adds, “Minecraft controls the aesthetics, (with) Voxelus you can go above and beyond.”
The company platform claims that over 400 worlds have been built as of now, with Voxelus.
