Thomas Cook Gets A Virtual Reality Experience From Visualise
Visualise who is the virtual reality production specialist together with Catch Digital agency are working to create a new virtual reality flight experience for Thomas Cook airlines. Visitors will be transported to the cockpit of the plane and experience a 360-degree in-flight experience through a campaign dubbed ‘Fantasy Flight’.
In order to win a £3,000 holiday, customers will have to find and submit a number of clues within various videos taken within the economy and premium classes to a microsite.
The founder and CEO of Visualise Stuart Henry said that to connect with its customers, travel companies are realizing the potential of VR. There was a 180 percent increase in the booking of the NYC excursion during the ‘Try Before You Fly’ campaign launch and they hope this new campaign will build on that success.
You can use YouTube, Google Cardboard or even the internet to view such an experience. GoPro has the best cameras for a small internal environment and 3 of them were used to capture the interior footage of the plane.
Catch Digital founding Partner Jonathan Smith added that they had fun while shooting the video to bring out the different destinations and also giving clues to viewers so that they can win a holiday to LA by entering the competition. Thomas Cook Airlines’ new routes and top of class A330 aircraft will be highlighted with VR.
