Vicarious, a small company started by JM Yujuico and Alexander Chu is located in San Francisco. Last fall in a statement by the co-founders, they gave a description of something really promising. With the platform, you can create virtual reality experiences with any kind of content. It’s works very well with the regular 2D videos and photos and also panoramic and 360 media.
In the coming weeks, the program will be absorbing applicants “a few members at a time” into Vicarious. Every successfully applicant will run tests on the platform with the newly added features which includes the creation user interface and file reader. This group of testers will also be appraising the content sharing backend.
The company is looking for people who have genuine interest in Vicarious virtual reality and not just casual testers. It needs people who intend to stick around for as long as they have to.
Vicarious Founder and CEO, JM Yujuico said, “As part of the alpha group, you’ll have a team helping you work with the tools and listening to your feedback. In exchange, all we ask is that you remain involved and help us build the future of social VR together.”
For you to get considered to be picked for the alpha test, you must be a recipient of Vicarious’ Newsletter. The application invites have been forwarded to current members and the only way to actually send back an application in is by replying the message. If you received an application invite, you will have to “write a few sentences about why you want to use Vicarious” and make available a link to your own content from a blog, social media site or “other type of internet presence” that might be considered. To use the app, you’ll need a Gear VR if you do actually get an invite.
Conclusively, Vicarious is all about bringing in people who have something substantial to offer and not just anybody. To be a part of the early test group, you must have something really meaningful to bring to the table.
