Virtual Home Theater
If you want a virtual home theater, this could be good news for you. Valve announced their SteamVR Desktop Theater Mode. The mode allows players to play existing Steam games in VR.
The SteamVR Desktop Theater Mode utilizes some of the same technology it’s broadcast features and Steam In Home Streaming.
There’s not much of a delay and the game is able to appear onto a huge screen. Valve notes that as long as a game is above 30 frames per second, then it should work with VR.
The Theater Mode works kind of like the Virtual Desktop app that’s made for Oculus Rift.
It’s launch date is set for early April along with the HTC Vive.
