Virtual Reality Bigger Than Phones?
Phones are a huge part of our lives whether we like it or not. Well, some people think Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) may become even larger.
Clive Downie, Chief Marketing Officer of Unity Technologies, said, “It’s going to be huge… It has the opportunity to eclipse the smartphone market.”
Virtual reality is essentially a computer generated 3D world for people that are wearing VR headsets. VR senses head motions to create an immersive experience. Augmented reality is similar except that it adds a virtual addition to the real world.
Unity Technologies is investing a lot of money into VR and AR. Downie said, “It’ll add another very significant twist to social media and how people interact with each other.”
By the way, what Unity says means a lot, considering their games are downloaded around 33 million times every day on phones across the world.
