World’s First VR Rollercoaster

Alton Towers has a lot of fun rides, but there’s a new ride of theirs creating a lot of buzz. That ride is a roller coaster called Galactica. It’s a re-creation of Alton Towers’ Air roller coaster which was meant to give people the feeling that they were flying (in 2002).

Now, in 2016, that ride includes a pair of customized virtual reality goggles for riders to wear. When the headset comes on, it brings the riders into a futuristic spaceship and then sent into an intergalactic frenzy for about 1 minute 30 seconds.

All of the movements on the rollercoaster are synced with what’s going on in the virtual reality world via the VR headsets which creates a thrilling experience.
