Yankees and Mets Fans Can Now View Seats in VR Before Buying Tickets
How about seeing exactly what the views will look like while sitting at a Mets or Yankees game?
Now, thanks to StubHub, you can do just that. The company is enabling virtual reality views from each seat inside Citi Field and Yankee Stadium and plans to bring these options to Fenway Park, Dodger Stadium, AT&T Park, and Wrigley Field in the near future.
StubHub has been battling with the Yankees in regards to tickets as the Yankees stopped print at home tickets this season which meant all fans have need actual tickets or mobile tickets for games.
The Yankees aren’t going to make anyone avoid StubHub, but sharing tickets is harder that way.
It became a worse situation during Spring Training as Yankees’ COO Lonn Trost pretty much said that they don’t want rich fans to need to sit with poor fans.
StubHub’s new in app feature enables fans to see a 360-degree view of their seat by simply moving through their phone (Android or iPhone). For people that have a VR headset such as Samsung Gear VR or Google Cardboard, they can insert the phone into the viewer to experience virtual reality in an immersive way.
